Walk With-Matthew 19:14 Original

I have been obsessed with bears for most of my life. In fact, in college, it was suggested that I stop doing so many bear-themed projects and start doing something more “sophisticated.” We can see how well I listened to that. Creating this series, I got stuck in the trap of they all must look like they go together. I was spiraling in thoughts; “Should I make all the bears walking? No, I like one laying. But then I can’t have two walking and only one laying…” I reached the point where I just had to start painting and out came these three bears. This bear, Weston, is a part of my Matthew 19:14 series. The “Let the little children come to me…” scripture was inspired by where I saw these paintings hanging—a nursery. We are all His children, and we are all welcome to walk with Him.

This is a one-of-a-kind original painting — acrylic and charcoal on canvas, 14" x 14", painted in 2025.
