Delight-James 1:17 Original

This is a one-of-a-kind original painting — acrylic and charcoal on canvas, 24” x 30”, painted in 2026.

“Delight-James 1:17” was meant to be a replacement of an old painting, including reusing the meaning. But it quickly became its own painting, and God sent its own meaning too. God used “Delight” to show me that He was and is creating with me as I paint. I wasn’t sure what color to put on top of this weird green background until I pulled out an old mix. I had mixed this for a different painting months before, but it hadn’t worked for that painting. Turns out God had plans for it on “Delight.” It was the perfect color for the green background. God reminded me of the sheer joy I get from painting. Plus realizing that God was doing it with me blew my mind. This joy seeps into my paintings and gives them a playfulness and a childlike wonder I hope I never lose. What a gift this is! James 1:17 reminds us that anything good or perfect is from God and that He never changes.
