Declare-Psalms 40:9-10 Original

Original unavailable, but you can still have Thomas hanging in print format!

Introducing Thomas Raphael, the award-winning chicken, winning 1^st place in his category at the Wilson County and Tennessee State Fair and placing in the top 10 for people’s choice too.
“Declare-Psalms 40:9-10” is one of my personal favorite paintings, and it’s not because I love chickens (I actually don’t all that much). He wasn’t going to be a painting. I was painting the background with no thoughts of painting a chicken, when suddenly, my brain goes “This looks like a chicken!” I couldn’t let the idea go, so I sketched it out “just to see” and then I named him… and once that had happened, I couldn’t not paint him! And so, Thomas Raphael in all his dramatics was created. He became the spokes-chicken for what I want for my business: to declare God’s goodness and faithfulness to encourage people. The scripture came from a sermon from my church on Psalms 40, and roosters are great at declaring things, so I thought verses 9-10 were great for him.

This is a one-of-a-kind original painting — acrylic and charcoal on canvas, 24” x 24”, painted in 2025.
